A Note from the Principal

It is an honor and a privilege to be a part of the Loretto Elementary school community. The teachers and staff here at Loretto Elementary look forward to working alongside you to ensure that every child becomes a lifelong learner grounded in Loretto’s four core values of Faith, Community, Justice, and Respect. Learning at Loretto Elementary is about developing the whole child. We want each child to broaden their minds and their faith, master foundational skills, and always be curious and grow to their fullest potential.

Elementary School Curriculum
Elementary School Curriculum

The administration, faculty, and staff work diligently every day to provide rigorous, relevant curricula for our students in a safe learning environment. Students receive standards-based instruction in math, language arts, science (STEM), social studies, and religion.

STEM & Technology

Loretto Elementary School is a Blue Ribbon School. Our PK3- through 5th-grade students experience STEM as part of their curriculum. Our 1st-5th grade students participate in STEM challenges throughout the year through utilizing the engineering design process as well as project-based learning.

Technology is integrated across the curriculum during daily instruction using Chromebooks, enriching their academic experience at school and at home.

Faith Development

Through daily prayer, Mass, and daily religion classes; the faith life of our students is at the heart of what it means to be a member of the Loretto Elementary Community. Students participate in and help to lead weekly Mass.

Service Learning

Loretto Elementary is committed to helping our students become a positive influence within our community and on others. One of the ways we do this is through serving others. Each year, and in each class, our students participate in Service Learning Projects. These may be grade-level specific, or it may be a school-wide service project, but serving others is a point of focus here at Loretto.

Each year, classes choose a nonprofit organization or cause in the El Paso and Juarez community and serves them throughout the academic year by volunteering their time, giving donations, and by hosting events. Learn more about the students’ service learning projects here.

Arts and Enrichment

Students participate in a rotation of special classes each day that allows them to explore and learn in different ways:

  • Spanish
  • Fine Arts
  • Music
  • Physical Education
