Gabriela Gallegos

Gabriela Gallegos, Class of 1994

Gabriela Gallegos ’94 graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in government and philosophy from Cornell University and later went on to receive a Master’s in Public Policy and a Juris Doctorate from the University of California Berkeley. While at Berkley, she became the first Latina to become the Editor-in-Chief of the UC Berkley Law Review. Today, Gabriela is the President and Race Director for Race El Paso, as well as an attorney and Associate Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Public Health, El Paso campus.

In November 2021, Gabriela was elected to the World Triathlon Executive Board Committee. She is the first person of color to be nominated by the U.S. to the World Triathlon Executive Board. She was elected to the USA Triathlon Board of Directors in 2018 as its first Latina member. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Pan American Triathlon Confederation and YWCA El Paso del Norte. Gabriela Gallegos is the daughter of the Honorable Judge Patricia Macias ’69.
